This project is all about bringing together a brand and an artist. While researching, I noticed that reusable “bags for life” often lack any real excitement or creativity. Rather than just printing artwork onto the bag, I thought, why not make the bag itself the artwork?
I chose Damien Hirst as the ideal collaborator, known for his bold use of colour and iconic polka dots. The idea is simple: the bag starts completely blank. As customers shop at M&S, they collect recycled polka dot stickers to decorate the bag however they like.
It’s all about giving people the freedom to create their own ever-evolving piece of art.
